In the first movie, when Morpheus is explaining the whole thing to Neo, he points out that humans generate a certain amount of energy through body heat. That is then combined with a form of fusion to give the machines all the energy they need.Ok I need some answers on the whole duracell thing. All of this advanced technology and they choose humans for an energy source?
The plugs are visible in the real world (that'd be the world of Zion and the Sentinels). They are not visible when you are jacked into the matrix because of residual self-image. It also explains why everyone has a rockin' hairdo inside the matrix, but something much simpler in the real world. So, real world: plugs, ratty clothes, and bad haircuts. Jacked into the matrix: no plugs, black leather dusters, shades, and cool haircuts.Did anyone notice that the plugs in Neo's arms and back that were removed in the Matrix has somehow found their way back in Reload, or did I miss something? I hope I missed something, I would hate to think the director would not over look something like that.
Most good sci-fi is based on the idea of one 'gimme.' In other words, the writers get one far-out concept on which to build an entire fictional world. That gimme for The Matrix is that humanity has been enslaved to be used as a source of energy.
