Second time to the range since purchase. First time experienced some failure to fire with Aguila ammo. This time the Remington .25ACP - no failures. I am happy with my 100 year old gun!

The 1910 was large for a .25 but that size helped if one actually wanted to hit something with it. Being all steel, it will last as long as someone takes care of it.

Find some hot European ammo OR handload it. Yes one can reload the .25 and improve it a bit.

If you want hot... and expanding bullets..

Fiocchi's Extrema XTP .25ACP 35 Grain Hornady XTP
or
Speer's Gold Dot 35 gr JHP
or
Winchesters's Super-X Handgun .25 Auto 45 Grain EP.

Wolff makes a variety of springs for the Mauser 1910, including a striker spring. Although I suppose it's really more of a collector's gun than a shooter. Like Deaf Smith says, they've always struck me as one of the best 25 automatics ever made.

I grew up with the one I now have. It was the first "automatic" handgun I fired as a kid.

My dad got it from a relative that brought it back from the second war. I got it when he died.

While it was shot a good bit over the years, I dont shot it much now. Once or twice a year for fun and remembering. I cant remember it ever having any stoppages or being ammo picky. .25acp is one of the few rounds I dont load for, so I just shoot what ever .25 fmj's I have on hand.

I found a nice little flap holster for it on IMA's website a few years back. Its well made, and fits it perfectly.
