Mauser as a hunting rifle?

I've had bith German 98k's, Vz 24's and a Swedish 96/38.

I'll gladly take the 24 , 96/38, and 98 in that order. Its just a recoil preference, the 24 has ALOT less felt recoil to me than a 98 and the 96/38 is just plain smooth as silk.

Thats not to say i dont like the 98k, but I've grown out of being a punching bag for heavy recoiling rifles.

Most people who shoot long enough will do that. I certainly did.
