I cannot find an answer to my malfunctioning Mauser HSc, so I'm going public here on THR.

My HSc, made in the '70's, fails to chamber the 380 round often, it places it usually butted up against the lower portion of the feed ramp. The round often is canted slightly downward.

I've polished the ramp: Dremmel and Brasso. I've switched both the magazines -neither show lip deformity.
And yes I've used ball, SW, HP, virtually all ammo brands and types.
Tried may lubricants; greases, oils, graphite. Tried running it dry.

I'm wondering if this is due to manufacturing. It was made in Oberndorf, and the quality seems excellent. By appearance.

Is there a history of this with this pistol. Was gibst?

Your slide is cycling faster than the mag can feed the rounds and or you have a defective / damaged magazine. I would try, in this order:
1. stronger magazine spring
2. different magazine
3. stronger recoil spring (slows the slide down a bit)

I remember my brother had one in the mid 70's, purchased new, that exhibited the exact same characteristics. Tried the same 'fixes" and still had the problems that your pistol had. He eventually sold it; not much of a SDW if it can't even feed FMJ reliably.
