I remember seeing mauser 98 three shot magazines at a gun show. The lady said that they replace the bottom plate and hold three rounds. My question is does anyone know of magazines for mausers that hold more than just three?

Thank you so much for that 20 round mag info MUCH APPRECIATED :D :D :D

BTW what is that chain on it?

Also how do you release the mag, does it have a mag release on it?

I've always been curious whether or not those 20 round mauser magazines work worth a darn. $70 is a lot of money to spend when there's a fair chance that it'll only serve to make my rifle less reliable.

So, does anybody have any experience with these things?

What I really want is a fixed 10 round magazine for a mauser, like the fixed 10 (or 12) round magazines found on SMLEs. Anyone ever seen something like that?

You can buy a lot of high quality stripper clips for that much ammo. The 3 shot detachable magazine is almost pointless, but the 20-rounder is somewhat interesting if not extremely expensive.

I'll see your "somewhat interesting" and raise you a "heck yeah!" :D

I have seen 8 round mags... But for me, it seems the built in is easier.. yes?

Strippers seem easier and less space consuming...

I have heard the 20 rounders were experimental during WW1. They were not that reliable and so they stopped using them. Theres a reason there was not many of them made.
