I just got a World War II Mauser P-38 from my grandfather. It's got the military proof markings with the German Army Eagle and Swastika. Awesome gun!

Anyways, I was looking on Numrich (Gun Parts Corp.) and they don't list a Mauser P-38 but do list a Walther P-38. I was wondering if the parts are the same and would work on my Mauser P-38. More specifically I need a few extra magazines. So if I get a magazine for the Walther P-38...it should work with the Mauser, right?

Thank you!

As above, the P-38 was made by three makers during WWII including Mauser.

After the war Walther reintroduced the P-38 with an aluminum frame and a few slight changes to the firing pin and safety assembly to make it safer.
The West German military also bought the aluminum frame P-38 which they called the P1.

All magazines whether war-time or post-war and steel frame or aluminum, P-38 or P1 will interchange.

Thanks for the info!

It's a BYF44 and was made in September or October 1944 at the Mauser Werke Plant in Oberndorf, Germany. It has the WaA 135 marking for the military as well as the German Army symbol.
