I have been trying to put together a reasonably correct bcd 4 and have everything but the stock selected. I recently read an article which indicated that in 1945 the Kriegs Model stock was produced in both laminate and solid walnut and came in every possible combination (screwed on barrel bands, band spring bands, both milled and stamped bands and spring, drilled for a cleaning rod, not drilled for a cleaning rod) with about the only thing the same on them being the take down lug in the butt plate. Now, my question. Has anyone heard or read about these stocks being produced in 1944? I have a stock which appears to be solid, is drilled for a cleaning rod, requires the convential mauser band spring and Mauser handguard and has the take down lug in the buttplate. Could one of these have been used on a bcd4? Comments and thoughts welcome.
