I was reloading .38 today, and when I got done with a batch of 50, I realized I didn't remember doing my visual check to see if there was a single load in each case before I dropped a bullet in. I might have and then forgot I did it, but I'm still wondering. I load single-stage, and there were no distractions or interruptions when I was throwing powder, so this is just my reloading OCD talking.

So, would 5.6gr of Bullseye behind a 148gr wadcutter in a .38 case blow up a .357? My manual doesn't list Bullseye under .357, since I'd imagine it would make a terrible magnum powder.

Looks like I might be making a trip to the shop for a bullet puller.

Thanks.

Hollow-base or solid-base wadcutter?

No, 5.6 gains of Bullseye in a .38 case with a 148 grain solid-base wadcutter should not hurt a .357. That would be 1.2 grains (18%) under max in a .357 case, so it should be O.K., though max, in a .38 Special case.

If they are hollow-base WC, I would not shoot them, as you are almost sure to have blown skirts, and/or seperated skirts stuck in the bore.

They're solid base.

Thanks again for your help rcmodel.

A surprise max load I can handle, and a squib I can handle, but I'd be very sad if the gun blew up.
