Right in the middle of watching an old MGM movie called "Right of the People". Basic story line is the old "a conservative is a lib who got mugged". The local DA's family gets killed in a hold-up gone wrong, so he comes up with the idea to let everyone carry who is over 18 with a clean record. And he pushes it at town meeting and elsewhere in town. Lots of the citizens begin to agree with him. Except for the usual suspects. The movie follows from there with every cleishe(sp) you ever heard from the anti's. Of course being a Hollywood production, the DA's plan gradually goes bad, and all the typical hollywood wacko-gun-owners start to show up also; but not a bad movie about reasons to carry.
