So I finally got my hands on a Rossi Puma92 in 454Casull, and I can't wait the week and half till deer season opens. I've worked up some loads and taken it to the range to get a feel for the gun. This thing is a beast! I shot a bowling pin at about 60 yards and almost completely gutted the plastic shell. There was only a little wood left in the top of the pin. And recoil on this guy with even just a modest charge of win296 behind a hornady 300gr XTP is just brutal. I'm kind of thinking it's overkill, what do you all think? Blow up a deer with just to see, or use somthing a little less?
