Mayor Makes Firearms Illegal in Public Places

My local City Hall has a sign prohibiting "Dangerous Weapons" with no further explanation or description of dangerous weapons. My pistol is properly maintained, safely carried, and presents no danger to anyone who does not pose a threat to me, so I guess it's not "dangerous".

Your state/local statutes will have the legal definition of "dangerous weapons" as pertains to the sign that you saw.

As noted, if the town is inside an Indian reservation then that changes everything. Seems they can make rules that supersede state and federal laws....

It's not inside an Indian reservation.

It's near an Indian reservation.

The town is "Ruidoso, NM", not the Apache Nation.

State and Federal laws apply, not Apache law.
