Anyone know how fast they can be driven and maintain the integrity of the coating?

I looked on the website faq, but didn't see anything specific about it.

I was hoping they could be used in place of heavy plated and jacketed bullets.

Been playing with powder coated in a rifle.
Accuracy died at around the usual 2200, coating began to fail at about 2500
different alloys and coatings might make some progress on these early numbers.

Missouri is using a three coat process using hi-tek and their extreme catalyst. Someone that has used this specific process could probably give you some exact numbers.

They can indeed be driven at higher velocities. BDS and Blarby have been experimenting with this and have a post here somewhere that details their results so far.

I just got delivery of a box of 500 for the 9mm yesterday. I hope to have some loaded up within the next few days and tested by next weekend. Of course I will post the results...

I sent MB an email asking about the coating on 45-70 bullets, and could they be driven to 2200 fps. In typical MB fashion, Brad responded in less than 24hrs (I figured Monday would be plenty quick). He didn't know about 2200 fps. I figure it's pushing the envelope, but based on what I've read here and elsewhere, I suspect the coating process they are using will top out in that ballpark. Brad did say they didn't have the one I asked about available coated at present, but they will eventually offer the coating on all products. Sounds good to me.

MB seems to have followed other commercial caster lead and jumped on THE HI-TEK coating bandwagon.

Bayou Bullets, Gateway Bullets, SNS Casting have been using the coatings.

BBI and LNL Casting have recently converted to this process and now it looks like MB also has.

Bayou Bullets and Gateway Bullets will sell FINISHED COATED PROJECTILES

or the MATERIALS for a self caster to coat his casting with.

There are folks RETIRING their STAR LUBER/SIZERS to SIZING duty only.

The days of WAXY LUBES seem to be fading.

The new coatings have LESS/NO MESS, LOW/NO SMOKE, CLEAN BARRELS AND EQUIPMENT, what's not to like.
