Does anyone know if the MCACE Co. Is still in business. The company is/was one of the few, if only companies that produced adapters for various cartridges. They are or were based in Alaska. They're internet site is still online but my emails go unanswered & my attempts to call the listed number likewise. If anyone has knowledge related to this I'd appreciate you sharing.

Thanks Robert. That's the number I called before but will try once again just to verify.

I've been using whatever address their "Service Request Form" on their website goes to. The address doesn't reflect when you fill it out. That said, I'll certainly try the address you provided. Will post results. Thanks.

Kind of strange...the other day I went on their website and no problem. Yesterday and today there's no connection; just the warning that the site is not secure.

I tried the suggested email address but no response thus far. I have never had a problem getting on their website but have never been able to place an order nor received any response from them re:Service Request Form". Has anyone in the forum recently, say last 2 months or so, placed an order, received an email response or spoke with a company representative?

I bought something from MCAce years ago. Might have done email and paid by check in the mail, can't quite remember.

What I do remember is that they kind of disconnnect from doing business for days or weeks at a time. Hunting, or weather, or . . .

Well it's been about a week since my last attempt to contact the MCACE folks. Even tried to call again today but no joy. Wasn't even afforded an opportunity to leave a message. The posted phone# appears to work but simply says "memory full enter access code". My guess is that this is something more than a "gone hunting" situation. If someone in the membership learns different would appreciate a heads up but I think I'll let it pass for now. Does anyone know of an alternate source for chamber adapters?

If you havent been able to contact Ace, then if it's a shotgun insert you're looking to get, go with Chaszel. They will have issues with stuff out of stock, but their quality is very high and offer things Shortlane/gun adapters doesnt.

If it's rifle adapters you're wanting, you're out of luck, I dont know who else makes them.

Thanks TTv2. Yeah that pretty much confirms what I've found. However, I have a lathe & may just see what I can do. I was looking for a .222 Rem to .22 LR chamber adapter. Not too concerned with the fabrication of the actual adapter but ensuring that the hammer hits the .22 LR rim is a puzzle. Guess I'll find out.

I have .223 to .22 and while it shoots quarter inch groups at 15 yards, I dont like it because it's cumbersome to use. Takes two whacks to get the rimfire to go off and fiddling with the plug that acts as the firing pin is no fun.

A centerfire like .32 ACP, .32 S&W, or .30 Carbine is much better.

The address on the website is a residential area. A quick google maps search shows a picture of a home.

Google the phone number and you'll find who's name it's in and several email addresses, one of which is the lilred address discussed earlier. They have a facebook page with no activity for a year, and that was to say they were 12 weeks out on delivery. (They may have so much work they stopped taking new orders, but you'd think they would say it.)

Appreciate the feedback & perspective of someone who's "been there". It's been too cold here to go out & work in the "toy shed" anyway so I haven't committed to the project just yet.

Interesting, I hadn't thought to do a Google search on the phone/address. I do agree on the absence of some sort of message indicating the company's status....ie, currently overloaded, not taking orders, etc.

Quarter size groups, not quarter inch.
