Have a CZ-75 NOT a model b wanted to buy some extra mags and looked towards mec-gar as an alternative, upon recieving them I checked for fit in my gun and while they will kind of go in it takes way too much effort to insert or extract them they appear to be just a bit too wide and the slide will not cycle at all with the empty mag inserted, time to stick with factory mags?

Pre B CZs must use factory mags. Which are, ironically, made by Mec-Gar. Just slightly different tube dimensions.

I've never even seen on go in all the way, be real careful there.

Factory mags work. They look a little 'rounder' on the edges. New factory mags MAY not work - they are too big. Trust me, I have a PreB. If you look around, take your gun to shows, and/or look at the forums, you MAY get some. They are scarce, but can be found. I ran into a regular dealer at a show once, and he had 6 for $25/ea. I bought a couple. Also, older TAA mags may also work out. Generally new mags, even the factory ones don't.

The bog mags are actually mostly too long (back to front). Jim Miossi, a first class gunsmith can open up a PreB to take ALL the new mags.
