Have any of you had problems with the 16rd 9mm CZ 75 mags from Mec Gar? I picked one up at a gun show and it seems to have a better mag spring than the 18 rd factory mags that came with my gun.

I was surprised that the aftermarket mec gar mag had a better spring than my factory cz magazines.

Mecgar actually makes CZ's factory magazines. They are top notch in every way. The new magazines with the blue follower will feed both 9mm and .40 flawlessly.

Stay away from Promag magazines. The bodies are decent, but have weak springs. If you figure in the price of a new spring...you're already more expensive than a Mecgar. STAY AWAY from National magazines. There is no plus I can give you at all with them.

They work great in my cz phantom. However the anti friction coated version doesn't drop free for some reason. The stock CZ mags do, but the mec gar one wont.

It's the AFC coating where the body and shoulder meet. I took a file and took the coating off on my mags so they drop free. I don't actually care for the AFC. I think the blued magazines work better, but they are also more expensive.

Mec-Gar is generally well thought of. They also make excellent mags for the Sig P220.
