Ohio, and proud of it (for now)
Low skill, bad light, and impatience combined to produce these poor pictures of a good gun:

I'd been wanting a .22 DA revolver, and had been considering the Taurus option. I obtained this for about the price of a new Taurus.

Hahaha! I think Wild is just sorta offering to ''look after the gun'' for you! :D Nice piece.

Pics actually not that bad - at all .... but just a suggestion .... try not to use direct lighting . Flash this seems to be ..... and, try and use a background with less pattern ... only because that ''conflicts'' with the main subject.

Still very presentable.:)

Flying V,
Looks very nice!! I hope that it gives you lots of enjoyment!

The pictures aren't bad at all. They are better than I can do right now. If you're really intersted in getting the pictures down pat, do a search on photo tips. Someone mentioned a lot of suggestions for taking good pictures of firearms.

Flying V,

Those pics are pretty good! Its tougher than you'd think to get good pics of guns. I'm still working on my technique, but heres a nice 18-2, 1965 vintage:

Lighting & background make a big difference, keep trying different things and see what works best for you.

May I respectfully add one other flaw? Bad background

Photography is like shooting. It takes practice, self criticism, and comments from others.

When you photograph an object (gun, pack of cigarettes, flower, etc.), you are making a still life. The subject is the important thing. Keep the background quiet so the viewer sees the object with no interference.

There are always exceptions. An example is the photo I saw online of a S&W revolver laid on a paper world map -- a very effective bacground.

Generally, a light colored background with no obvious pattern will shot your model 18 in the best light.

Now go do another photo and post it here for us to see...
