So I picked up this Kahr CW9 yesterday, It was used. payed 299.00 for it.I wanted something small and inexpensive to take with me when I stay at my sisters in PA. I looked at the Smith and Wesson Sigma and Taurus Millennium Pro. In the end I couldn't pass up the price on the Kahr. This thing is so lite and slim. I have larger hands and I am able to get a decent grip on it. I would like to find a slip on grip if anyone knows of any. Thanks for looking. Cant wait to shoot it. Now the gun porn.

The CW9 is a great pistol and you're gonna like it. Get a Tagua Gunleather quick slide if you can find one and you won't even know you have it on your belt. Keep it clean and lubed and it will serve you well.

i tried a set of the Hogue slip on grips a couple of weeks back and they felt pretty nice. i was surpriced that the CW9 was about the same size as my Springfield EMP

Jermz! .. I bought a new CW9 yesterday and took it to the range for a workout. I shot a hundred rounds of Blazer aluminum through it with no problems .. no FTF FTE .. nothing.
The feel of the grip is what sold me on the gun too ...

Thanks for the kind word guys, Quick question for CW9 owners, Is it suppose to be so tight? When I load up a mag and try and rack it back to load it, it sometimes gets hung up, I think I might not be pulling it back far enough, Buts its super tight. It has no problem loading the round if I close it using the slide release.

Yes, unfortunately (or fortunately, depending on how you look at it), Kahr pistols are not the easiest to shut using the slingshot method though it can be done - it's the only way I was taught to close a slide or to load a pistol. The manual does recommend using the slide release lever to facilitate the proper chambering of a round and to ensure that the slide closes completely.

As for a grip, I use a mountain bike innertube. Cut it to size, then use a paper hole punch and punch three holes on each side. Heat with a hair dryer and stretch over the gun. Does not alter the ergos of the gun, and it's just tacky enough to give me a sure grip if my hands are sweaty or wet.

Congrats on your CW9; I think you'll be pleasantly surprised with how well it shoots and become a Kahr fan like the many on THR. They're great little pistols. And for $299 - that's a steal!!

My PM9 which is a tack driver and has been 100% reliable. I was impressed with how well it shoots!!

the owner's manual actually instructs you to release the slide with the slide stop to strip the first round off the mag.

it's not just the tightness. it's a combination of the short grip frame reducing leverage and the heavy springs to compensate for the reduced slide mass.

after i got a couple of hundred rounds through mine, racking the slide to chamber a round worked a lot better

Congrats on your Kahr!!

I have a CW 9 and a CW 45 and both have been flawless, truely a joy to carry! Make sure you take these guys advice on using the slide stop lever to load the first round, and read your manual to catch things like this. Good luck with your pistol, IMHO I think it is one of the best conceal carry pistols out!

Love the Kahr

I just asked some what of the same ?s on a new post should have read alittle farther down on yours! Love the gun, but wow, that slide is very tight on mine just the same. I bought new, and don't have 100+ through it yet, so next week i ll definetly get acouple hundred more through it and hope it improves! Good luck with yours and let me know if or how you get it to loosen up!

Thanks guys, Yeah I'm sitting here reading the manual and just saw the area where it explains to use to slide release over the slingshot method. Ive been use to using a cz75b SA which was my first firearm. I am loving how small this thing is and how lite it is. I can imagine shooting the CW45. Must kick like a mule. lol

This is Kahr's own recommended procedure. It takes human error (not working the slide aggressively enough or inadvertently "riding" it on the forward stroke) out of play.

Congrats! I bought my CW9 a little while ago and it has been flawless. I opted to go with the bike inner tube grip because the checkering on the handle was rubbing my side raw while carrying.
