When I order lead bullets I usually get 1000 to 2000. Last time I bought .45 LC bullets (200gr LRNFP) I got them from Kansas Bullet Company. Excellent bullets but the owner had personal problems and shut down.

Now I am in need of more .452 lead bullets. Midway USA has a bunch of different brands for sale and the ones that interested me were .452 LRNFP 250gr from Meister and Hunters Supply.

The HS bullets sell for $36 per 500 and the Meister for $43 for 500. Both have 6% antimony, 2% tin and 92% lead composition so both are equally hard. Both look like they come out of the identical mold design.

But I know there are differences in cast bullet quality in diameter, weight and lube.

I have no experience with either company and was wondering which one you guys would recommend?

Thanks for the link and the vote of confidence.

FYI - the Hunters Supply 250gr LRNFP are $14 cheaper at Midway USA than buying the same bullet from the manufacturer...

I loaded 500 Meister 9mm bullets, and got decent accuracy out of them. Had to seat deeper due to PO1 short chamber/wider at .356 as opposed to .355. No problems at all, but I just don't really like bare lead, so a couple of boxes of loaded ammo languishes in the safe....

I have loaded probably around a thousand or so of the Meister bullets. I used the .452 230 gr. I found the consistency to be excellent. They are not sticky either , and load very nicely. If I wasnt starting to cast my own bullets, I would be sticking with the Meister bullets. Best of all is the price! I have a Sportsmans Warehouse near me that carries them for $26/500. No shipping, just add tax.

It must be me, because the Meister bullets I've tried are sticky. I'm talking about the 200g LSWC. I've finally switched to Laser Cast from Cabela's (cheapest source I've found).

I generally use either Laser Cast or Hunter's Supply lead bullets. Think they are both great brands. In fact, I have a box of .452 LFP 250gr bullets sitting behind me right now. I am very pleased with them. I shoot them out of a Ruger Blackhawk using pretty stout powder charges and have not had any serious leading issues.
