While you are playing with your toys today remember what they represent.

Traditionally, Memorial day is the day we honor our battle dead. But I also honor the battle wounded, the men and women who made it home, but not always intact. Anyone who has seen the horrors of war may have had a piece of them die over there, even if it isn't a visible scar.

So to all my brothers and sisters who served, whether you came home intact or broken, alive, dead or are still waiting to be brought home, I render my salute to you all. You are not forgotten and your sacrifices will be honored.

And to the civilians who support and honor these men and women, thank you.

For the rest of ya bums, enjoy your barbeque.
