I would like to hear from you guys who have experience with Meopta scopes. How do they stack up against your other scopes? How do they compare in terms of quality, price, features? I'm particularly interested in the Meopta Optika6 2.5-15X44 with 30mm tube . I want to buy it or a Tract Toric 3-15X42 with T-Plex reticle and 1" tube. You can see that the magnification range is almost identical for both scopes. The Toric has zero stop adjustments; the Meopta does not. I like the T-Plex reticle and the zero stop feature. I have 3 Tract scopes and have no doubt about their quality. I can, however, spend $200 less on the Meopta, which would appeal to me. What do you guys think?

I have a Meopta Optika 6 3-18x50 with a 223 reticle and a Tract Toric 4-20x50 Scope. I did a side by side comparison and with my eyes optically the Tract won by a landslide. The difference was chromatic aberrations. The Tract had none and the Meopta had enough to share. Resolution was closer though if that makes any sense.

Lately these 2 rifles seem to be the ones I’ve been shooting most often. I’m happy with both scopes and quite frankly before I did the side by side test I would have claimed they were pretty much equals. I may have been biased toward Meopta because I have a pair of their binos that are spectacular and I assumed the scope had the same qualities.

I use the elevation dial on the Tract scope all the time and it seems repeatable and returns to zero. I use the reticle on the Meopta when shooting at different ranges, so I can’t really comment on the repeatability, but I would bet it’s good.

To me it boils down to the CA issue. As I said, prior to the test it never really bothered me and I’m learning to ignore it. For a hunting scope and the distances I normally hunt at CAs are a non-issue and it would come down to reticle choice. Both are very good scopes.

Thank you Ray...This is precisely the info I'm looking for. After I reviewed my post and your response, it seems silly to save $200 and not buy the scope I really want. Thanks a bunch. The rifle I've ordered hasn't arrived yet so, hopefully, I'll have both soon.

Haven't gotten my hands on a toric yet.... It will happen tho.

I am very happy with both of the meopro HTRs I've got. They're the best scopes I own at the moment.... At least optically. The one That's on my X-bolt SLR is the Cabela's instinct variant, It looks like it has Kenton turrets and I've lost about 10 MOA over the standard Meopta HTR.

Other than that both scopes are fantastic.
