Okay folks, tell me about Meprolight Tru-Dot night sights. I need to get some night sights for my new P2000 and typically when I get night sights, I opt for Wilson Combat Lo-Profile night sights (for 1911s, even when they come with night sights. I like the pyramid shaped rear sight with contrast color dots better for fast alignment) and for everything else I've always used Trijicon night sights. Unfortunately, I'm having some trouble tracking down a set of Trijicon night sights for the P2000 (though they have lots for other HK pistols), but I have noticed lots and lots of availability for Meprolight Tru-Dot night sights for the P2000. So what's everyone's experience been with them? Good, bad, indifferent?

I have used them for years on Glock & SIG's.

They are comparable to Trijacon's as far as quality.

Same 12 year warranty on green & yellow as Trijacon, etc.

My experience mirror's rcmodel's but with only about 4-5 years experience. I like them.
Good value.

I have a set of meprolight sights i bought 13 years ago that are still more than bright enough to see and use. They were the best $90 i spent for that pistol.

Based on what I'm hearing, it sounds like everyone's been pretty happy with their Mepros. I'll have to give them a try. Worst case scenario, I'm out the cost of a Milt Sparks Summer Comfort holster.

I've had Meps on various guns for over 25 years. In my opinion they're as good as Trijicon. HK uses Meprolight as their factory night sights so it's not surprising that you can find them for any HK. I do tend to go with Meps since most of my sidearms are HKs. In fact I have Meprolights on my VP9, USPc9 and P30L. My P30S wears Trijicon HDs right now but if I had it to do over again I'd get Meps instead.

They glow. They work as sights in regular and low light. They're solid enough to rack an autoloader on a boot heel or table edge. Basically, they're like most night sights from a reputable manufacturer.

I have used both Trijicon and Meprolight sights for several years and have had good luck with both brands. Typically, Trijicons tend to be more expensive, but the thing I like about them is that in the event the sights naturally dim or should leak, Trijicon can service the sights on the slide rather than require replacement of the entire sight. Meprolight does not offer this service and requires sight replacement.
