So who has a Meredith Rifle? I've ran across a couple guys at the range that have had these insanely well machined rifles that were shooting lights out and one of them was even using factory ammo. I'd expect as much from a custom build but when they told me what they paid for them I was shocked. The craftsmanship of these rifles far exceeded the dollar amount these guys invested in them. I was Impressed to say the least.

I don't but they get decent coverage on snipershide.com from what I can tell, it's a small, maybe one man shop that produces great rifles.

Meredith rifles is a small one man shop that is in my area. I know him personally and he is a stand up guy and a great rifle builder. I can't afford his rifles but I know of 5 guys who do and they all shoot cloverleafs at 100yds.

In fact he guarantees 1/2 MOA with the first 5 shots out of the barrel. I've not heard of one that didn't.

never heard of them. what kind of rifles are they?

his website is pretty spartan. seems he does custom work to factory actions? i'd like to hear more from someone familiar with what he offers.

All the ones I've seen are either .308 or 6.5 creedmore. Precision and Long Range shooting. But I'd imagine he'd build anything you wanted.

Ok, let me say that he is finishing my rifle now. Waiting on Timney. I am a lefty and Rifle Basix does NOT build a left handed safety. Tooter Meredith of Meredith rifles is a one man band. He builds rifles to whatever description that you want. He generally uses Stiller actions and bartlein barrels with Manners stocks. He will use and get whatever that you want or can imagine. Now this is what I have. He will do anything that you want. From blue printing to whatever your imagination and your pocket book can imagine. He is a hell of a guy. Upfront, honest and willing to help you with anything. While I have only one 99% done build, I have friends with multiple Meredith specials. I think a lot of Tooter and I know he will help you do whatever you want to do with a rifle. Give him a yell and get ready to get ur check book out. The rifle that he is doing for me is a 280AI. He can build whatever you want. My friends have 308, 6x47, .260. I have seen a 6br that literally shot in 1 hole. My buddies 308 shot in 1 hole saw the target not a witness. It is just amazing to see hard work pay off. I will never as long as I live buy another off the shelf rifle for nothing other than collecting. My next one will b a 243. I know I am just one man and I am whooping it up for Tooter Meredith but, he is truly a hell of a smith and you should at least talk to him.

I also had Meredith Rifles build one for me. I can't say enough nice things about Tooter and his business. There is another gentleman that is always there, always quite and polite and always busy. Top notch operation.

I stopped in to talk about building a rifle, gave him a box of parts and a little while later he gave me a trued Remington 700 action with a 24" Bartlein 1 in 10" barrel. Chambered in 308, set in a XLR evolution folding chassis, CG Jackson two stage trigger and topped with a Bushnell 3.5-21 HDMR scope. I loaded 10 rounds with 175 SMK and IMR4064 @ 2.800" just to get the rifle on paper. Bore sighted it at 100 yards and fired one, adjusted the scope and fired three, adjusted scope again fired last round in mag. Loaded five more in the mag. I was so excited seeing the group forming on the target I lifted my head on the last shot and it went high.

ahh cool. from the OP i somehow got the mistaken impression these were a line of factory guns and not a custom gunsmith.

welcome to THR, guys
looks like nice rifles! HDMR/XLRis a good combo. I am also left handed and use the x-treme trigger.

Hey SMccord, that is his brother. He has been helping Tooter some. Probably the guy you seen. His business has been pickingup here recently. He is supposed to go to the Rick and Bubba show in I believe Birmingham this weekend. That is a good looking chassis.

Hey taliv, I just looked at those x treme triggers. Looks like a nice set up. I don't reckon I have ever used a 2 stage trigger though. Yep, old Tooter can do it up for you guys. Y'all should give him a try.
