thats been on the "worlds wildest..." episodes for a while. it was an accidental shooting. good thing it was a safe DOA with a LOOONG trigger pull. Imagine a 3.5lb trigger on a SAO. oh wait, most of the times they have safeties.

I have double actions with decent trigger weights. So I'm not bashing them.

Looks like someone needs to learn some trigger control. Someone said this and i'm not sure who, "get you booger hook off the bang switch!" and maybe things like that wont happen. (I just love that quote)

did anyone get hurt? I gotta say, Thats my first time seeing it, and wow...

It's been posted here before, with significant discussion - I'll do a search and try to find the threads.

If I recall correctly, she was pulled off the street and the male officer suffered significant shrapnel wounds to the lower leg.

ETA - I can't find the threads - sorry.

This was part of the gun class that I took when I got my concealed carry permit a couple of years ago. It was a significant part of the class, in fact, with lots of discussion about what can happen when you are under stress and have your finger on the trigger. I'll bet that it was played a dozen times or more, including at least three that featured stop-motion and a laser pen, with lots of Q&A worked in for good measure.

That trigger finger on the trigger is a common beginner mistake. I did it but broke the habit after somebody explained to me the importance of that Safety Rule. Unfortunately, many gun owners are not humble enough to break the habit. I've been on Youtube arguing with people to get their darn finger off the trigger. My comments get erased while people go on to explain why the finger on the trigger is perfectly fine and why the other Safety Rules may be broken at will. There's more to come with all the new gun owners around. Having new gun owners that follow the safety rules is great. Having new gun owners that don't follow the Safety Rules is bad.
