Just picked up an American Classic II after doing alot of reading on here and 1911.org. I'm real happy with the gun. Just sitting here board an decided to youtube the gun and this is the second most viewed video. Wow i hope this video didn't sway anyone from buy this gun.......and anyone know what rifle he is talking about at the end?

That video is kinda odd

Sounds like he's talking about one of the carbine conversion. Mech Tech maybe? Doesn't fire rifle rounds, just converts a pistol into a pistol caliber carbine.

that on is just down right kinda creepy.... i wonder how many people watched that and believed everything that guy was saying

I do appreciate learning about new guns. However, I can't stand it when a reviewer picks up a gun and immediately puts their finger on the trigger (2:48). Little things like that make me seriously question if I should be listening to the person. These reviewers on Youtube are strangers after all.

My fav part was when he said...If your looking for an inexpensive 1911 and your paying over $400 your a f*cking joke.......wander what his total cost was on the $377 gun after shipping and transfer fees?

That's funny as I was thinking about posting something on youtube reviews. One of my favorites is a guy with a CZ75. He is talking about his likes and all and then mentions about already getting wear marks on the sides of the magazines. Then, a minute later, he says he has not even shot the gun yet!! He is getting all the wear marks from playing with the gun over and over. :cuss:

We have a lot of our videos up on our channel but I really enjoy the ones that are done just by people. Sometimes unfortunately they are completely wrong, so you can't use them for factual stuff, but a lot of times they mention points that you'd like to know, but that a normal reviewer would never note. I just wrote an article on the Px4 subcompact and the XD subcompact and I watched several before shooting them to learn what to look for. It was far more useful than posting forum topics asking. I posted a thread here and nobody answered it, not one, about the PX4, and on TFL I posted and it turned into an argument.

There are some good reviews.

There are alot of times that you will search for a review of a firearm and find that the video contains a child with an airsoft replica shooting at cans.

There are people like Nutnfancy throwing away money by dumping unaimed shots down range and not really showing what a weapon is capable other than its rate of fire.

There are ignorant rednecks that shoot at mud puddles, and there are fools that are an absolute disgrace to this community by letting individuals hurt themselves through lack of knowledge of how to fire a weapon, (i.e. girl with desert eagle).

I think youtube's best attribute is that some videos let you see a weapon handled up close by a knowledgeable human being, and that is far better than just looking at a 2d picture on the manufacturer's website.

This is why I look at nutnfancy's tabletops and then skip the rest of it.

You can actually make a 1911 pistol into a Carbine. It's an 18" barrel and a wood stock you put on the gun. FYI

But you can't ever remove it and make it back into a pistol again without an NFA tax stamp.

Beware.

NutnFancy does a great job, when you take into account he's doing it because its fun to him and he enjoys it. I think his views are right on. If I had to complain, I just wish he would work on making things more short and concise. He can be long-winded!
