metal prep degreasing prior to gun-kote

Hi: Is spray on brake cleaner or gun scrubber a good way to degrease surfaces after grit blasting and before re-finishing with KG K-phos or gun-kote? Thanks

Brake cleaner should work--takes a while to dry.

Trike=carcenogenic

Back in the old Army days I was trained to wash electronic components in buckets of trike before sending them to depot for repair. I have that listed on my health records(just in case).

Speaking of Gun-kote, can it be applied over existing bluing, or does the bluing need to be blasted off before applying Gun-kote? Is Gun-kote durable?

i dont know about gun-kote.


i use alumahide II and i LOVE it. i have sprayed (and resprayed) stuff. it holds up well.
