I got a 5 shotshell holder from ATI but am reluctant to put screws into my receiver. The back of the holder isn't flat so I was thinking of screwing it to an aluminum plate and then using some sort of adhesive to attach the plate to the side of my receiver. Maybe that super sticky 3M foam tape?

Do you still have the receipt? If so, to be honest, I'd return the side saddle and get yourself a buttstock shell holder sleeve, or a sling with shell loops, or both. They're non-permanent and work just as well as the side saddle IMHO.

What kind of gun do you have? TacStar has several side saddle mounts that attach to SG receivers using existing trigger group pin holes.

I beg your pardon, then.

You might try a do-it-yourself velcro kit. The velcro backs have pretty durable adhesive, and the right velcro weave can be all but impossible to remove without the right tool. It might make sense as a semi-permanent but instantly removable accessory. The right tool I'm referring to is any flat piece of plastic that can slip inbetween the velcro and "cut" it away.

The sidesaddle that I have attached to the receiver with allen screws that replaced the pins that came on the gun. I'd have to look at a Mossy to see how it would attach.

The Tac-Star sidesaddles are quite good and mount using the existing holes on the shotgun, simply by replacing the OEM screws with ones supplied with the sidesaddle.
