Mexican cover-up of U.S. terror threats?

Some of the information coming from Mexico indicates serious preparations by terrorists to cross the border with well-designed missions. Intelligence sources say the quality of information filtering through the Mexican government is often compromised by internal struggles within the Mexican drug cartels or by corrupt customs and police officials.

Yep, and the mexican government is more concerned with getting there people
across our borders.:cuss:

Exactly what has G. W. Bush's craven toadying to Mexico's Vincente Fox bought the US?

Mexican cooperation on staunching the flood of illegal immigration? No
Mexican cooperation on staunching to flood of illegal drugs? No
An actual extradition treaty with Mexico? No
Mexican Cooperation on joint anti-terrorist intelligence sharing? No

Bush has badly mishandled US relations with Mexico and his Administrations blistering incompetence in this area has reached the point of becoming a serious security threat to the American people.

Too bad Kerry is even worse.

I got a sneakin' suspicion the problem in Mexico with terror organizations is a whole lot worse than the article portrays. In Mexico we have th magic blend of drugs, illegal aliens, and terrorists all moving through the same channels of distribution to the US. Once a reliable channel is set up for drugs there is no reason that same channel can not be used for terror types and WMD's.

Nuclear weapons possible but not likely due to our survellience capabilities. I concern myself with chemical and biological agents moving through those channels. The problem with bio agents is we have no surveillence capabilities until they are deployed.

If one was wanting to bring a NUKE into the US the way to do it (unlike the media worry of it coming in by seatrans) would be to walk it across the US/Mexico border at any one of the numerous totally unpopulated for hundreds of miles places. A cheap GPS unit and a couple of strong healthy guys could walk the device across the terrain at night in 2 or 3 days easy. It's unlikely a lone person or even two would be detected. Have a predetermined pick up point by helo 10 or 20 miles inside the border and voila you're in. The helo can fly under the radar and air surveillance would never pick it up unless we maintain AWACS patrols with look down radar along the US/Mexico border and to the best of my knowledge we don't do that.

Getting a NUKE into the USA from Mexico wouldn't be hard. The hardest part is getting the NUKE in the first place.

Why hit Houston instead of New York City?
El T, if you're not just pulling our collective leg on this:

You need to take a little side trip through here next time you head out to Thunder Ranch. Houston has a huge petrochemical industry and oil refining complex to the south and east. We are also a transportation center for rail, truck and water (large and busy deepwater port). We are also the main administrative and business center for the world-wide petroleum exploration and production sector. Not to mention us being the 4th most populous metropolitan area in the US.

Every time I think about it, a single-wide in Brewster or Jeff Davis County looks better.
