Restriction doesn´t create anything but crime - by its nature.

That does apply to Weapons AND Drugs. Legalize them.
Its the human behaviour society has to regulate - not items.

Being pro 2A and against legalization of drugs seem a bit ...ehm ... well
not smart.

My advice to Mexico: start keeping better track of who has the keys to police arsenals and evidence rooms.

Barnard R. Thompson, "An Inside Look at Mexican Guns and Arms Trafficking", Mexidata.Info, 31 May 2010.

....Tepito marketplace and barrio, in the Cuauhtémoc district of Mexico City.

Tepito, Mexico City's largest market where just about anything and everything can be found, has long been known for its illegal goods and criminal activities, and today it is said to be the base of operations for a number of gangs. ...

"'Every 15 days or every month I get strong requests: from 20 to 60 weapons,' a person affirmed who says he has eight years in this business.

"A percentage of the weapons, the seller said, come from Mexico via Ministry of Defense personnel who provide [them] in part from weapons seized in raids, or stolen from the ministry's own arsenal. ... "

The only response I have to them re: weapons smuggling is, why is the violence so high on their side of the border and so much more calm on the US side? If US weapons are the problem, wouldn't US violence be higher? They'd rather not admit that corruption is a big issue and the drug cartels run the show in much of Mexico. That and their lack of focus on education has hurt them badly (uneducated people turning to crime/drug cartels to make more money than they could legitimately, uneducated people think they can't make a difference and stop crime in their neighborhood).

Closed, because y'all can't keep on topic and leave the WoD and other such tangents off the board...
