I have a Springfield Micro Compact 1911 that is a really sweet shooting pistol. Nice light weight, accurate, eats my reloads without a hicup. The recoil spring is a two piece deal with a longer diameter outer spring and smaller diameter inner spring. The pistol has functioned flawlessly, but the slide "sticks" or "catches" slightly when I rack it by hand. Does not seem to alter the function of the pistol, but it is not a smooth as I think it should be. My question is do others see this with their Micro's and is there anyway to "smooth out" the racking of the slide? My guess is that the initial resistance is from one spring and the "catch" I feel is the engagement of the second spring. Thanks.
