This gun has always intrigued me. Now, I am seeing them discontinued on different sites (GT Distributers being one). Is the gun officially discontinued? The Magnum Research page says nothing last time I checked. I'm wondering if they were too problematic, or I don't know something.

I seen several posts about cracked slides on various forums.

Not sure if this had anything to do with them being discontinued.

don't know if it's been discontinued, but if it was, it could be due to the countless cracked slides, or maybe it's the 1,000lb trigger pull, or quite possibly the sharp edges around the trigger guard, or the high price.....

I don't know but handled one a while ago, and didn't like the trigger guard as it curves up right flush with the muzzle, so if you would use a support hand to shoot it, your index finger could get blown off, if you held it a bit too high. LM

didn't know about the cracked slides. Now I know why I never bought one. I have never been a finger on the front of the trigger guard kinda shooter, but that is a good point. I was curious, nonetheless.

I don't know if it's being discontinued but I bought one online new for $299 a few months ago which is a long way below what they had been going for. I have been thinking that of all of my handguns, it is the one that I least like to shoot because of the trigger pull, invisible sights and woeful ergonomics. It stays in the safe and I should probably sell it. If it's discontinued, it won't be missed by many, I'm guessing.

If it's discontinued someone should tell Magnum Research because they still have it on their website!

The cracked slide issue was just with a limited production and is not typical of the pistol.

Yes, it is not fun to shoot but my experience with one is that it is utterly reliable, not ammo picky and accurate at self defense distances.

Discontinued?!! I guess I'll have to round up some money and get another before they're all gone! I got one early and it's my EDC.

It's way more accurate than it has a right to be and it's reliable, too. It may be a coupla ounces heavier than a plastic gun, but it's all metal. It's shorter than everything but the Seecamp and it has sights that you can see.

Trigger pull? Trying one in the gunshop and actually shooting one are two different things. Get a gym membership.

Recoil? Ever shot an airweight J-frame? Less than that.

It's a good little gun and if it's gone, at least I have mine.

I'm guessing that seeing it as 'discontinued' on a dealer website might mean that the dealer isn't going to carry it anymore in this case. My range doesn't have a rental, but I would really like to try one. I'm not really a .380 guy, but I would like to try the S&W Bodyguard and the Micro Eagle. I've been eyeballing the specs on the .380 Hydra-Shok on various test sights, and that one round might get me into one.

Also, keep in mind that I have been fighting my Father's very European .32acp is as large as you need to defend yourself theory my entire life. So, I have always (since 21) had a 9mm as barely above the acceptable line for stopping power. However bullet tech has improved a lot of things (including the .32), so going to a .380 seems like a given at some point.
