MICROTECH Archangel 9mm

I never said they aren't worthy for other people or that other people are wasting their money, etc on them. I simply stated I do not think they fit my definition of a defensive pistol therefore do not bother looking at them. If someone else wants one and carries one, I think that's great they found a gun they like. I'll stick to what I like and they can have what they like. The world spins and life goes on.

You know I would not consider a 1911 a defensive pistol when you have to leave it at home because it sticks out like a sore thumb when its 110 degrees outside and your wearing shorts and t-shirt. 6 shots of 9mm are better then 0 shots of .45 so I will take what I can get.

I'm wearing cargo (board?) shorts and a froot of the loooooom T-shirt right now.
My full size 1911 and backup mag are both invisible.

Where there's a will, there is a way.

"My 1911 conceals very well under a light T-shirt."

You ever hear of carrying a back up or do you just like being difficult to get along with? Is this thread titled "The Archangel is my primary gun?" Maybe the joke is on you.

John

Great, another gun I think I want. $485 for the gun and knife? Have to keep an eye on the comments after they've been in use for 6 months.

Yes I've heard of carrying a BUG. It must follow the same guidelines as my primary.

This Archangel 9mm is nothing more than a LCP wannabe with a waffle mag, heavy price tag and a cool knife to entice buyers. Whoopdie doo.

You almost sound as if you have an irrational phobia or hatred of pocket guns, did you have a bad experience? You can cry on my shoulder.

its nice to know that a company that tries to be innovative is criticized by people on this forum. Christ people, its a new gun you should be frickin happy that someone is trying. bunch of schadenfreude here.

A defensive firearm, in my opinion, is a firearm that you have with you when you need to defend yourself.

Given that some people (myself included) lead lives which would be utterly ruined by being made, the need for small (yes, undersized, uncomfortably small) guns persists.

On my own time, I'll carry the biguns and tuck the little ones away as BUGs.

In my opinion a defensive firearm should allow the user to get a full hand on the grip without having to cramp it or have fingers hanging off of it.

I just think you are pointing out ergonomics. This differs greatly from a "defensive gun".

Also, the LCP is a Keltec p3at wanabe, so the Archangel is a wanaba
keltec pf9 :)

The Archangel and the LCP look strikingly similar, just like the LCP looks like the KelTec.

Have fun with your toy guns. I'm out.

I'd buy one.

There is a big difference between an easily packable defensive weapon and a full size duty/service weapon. I like both sorts, and use them on an as needed basis.

Ideal? No, but handy enough to slip in a pocket counts for a lot, as well as lightweight.

wow can you get much more elitist? pocket guns work well for alot of people, having something the size of a LCP that fires 9mm is only a good thing. its good to know that an "intelligent" analysis of a firearm boils down to " it can't get a full grip so it must be crap". With those kind of brain waves at work its no wonder some people look at gun enthusiasts like a bunch hicks.

I think it's an interesting gun although I fear that from the looks of the trigger guard/trigger that there may be some dreaded trigger slap going on. I'd like to see one even though it's not as sleek, beautiful, all powerful one shot man killer as the sainted 1911.....

Look at the trigger guard/ trigger... not nearly enough room for my finger

The ones in the photo are prototypes -probably for marketing purposes only and I'd bet non-working.

Even with the OTF knife, it is hard for me to figure-out the scale, I'd like to see one compared to another pistol.

Still want one though!

Time will tell if they can produce a functional gun in sufficient numbers and still meet their price point.
Well, I had the same doubts about this company when they announced their AUG clone. They have done a tremendous job of not only promising but delivering a good product there, so I give them the benefit of the doubt on this one.

Yeah, but copying a fully functional design is a completely different ball game from designing a highly compacted mini pistol and having it be fully functional.

Rohrbaughs and Kahr PM9s have some pretty stiff recoil. With even less of a grip, controlling this gun during recoil will be a challenge with this gun, especially given how light it will be.

I like the notion of taking a totally small gun and then giving it options that ruin the smallness. The suppressor would be a goodly bit larger than the gun itself. A rail? That will also be a significant increase in size.

This site says 2.32" barrel and 7.1 oz empty weight.https://www.lipseys.com/itemdetail.aspx?itemno=MS350-1R-MCP&mfg=Microtech+Small+Arms+Research
