Does anyone know of a manufacturer who makes a Dissipator-type barrel which has the gas block in the midlength, vice CAR, position?
For those unfamiliar, the Dissipator is a 16" with full-length handguards and front-sight in the 20" position (so right behind the muzzle on the 16" barrel), and usually a gas block under the handguards at the CAR position.
I know that some folks make Dissipators with rifle-length gas systems, and do some tweaking to make them work, but I'm not terribly thrilled with that idea.
It's a bit late for me to ask now, as I already bought a Bushmaster Dissipator upper, A1 sights, M4-profile barrel.
It just seems that the Dissy would be a great place to apply the mid-length concept, but with even better sight radius and full furniture compatibility with the 20" rifles. Thanks for any info,
