check it out. midway is doing 60.99 per k of rainer 230gr FMJ. usually they are around 70 bucks. dont know if anyone uses em but it was a decent sale. they had some other stuff marked down too. lee hand primer was 9 bucks.:)

i didn't realize bullets had gone up that much. i bought several thousand winchester FMJ 230g about this time last year and got them for $65/1000, maybe less, i don't recall. Now they're $76/1000

tricky, note that those bullets are PLATED not FMJ

imho, an actual jacket is worth the few extra bucks

Apart from inflation, one must always remember that there is a commodity price, lead in this case, that can fluctuate significantly. This is probably more observable in buying lead shot, but is a factor in bullet prices. I grabbed a couple thousand of those same 230 gr bullets before the last price increase- Zero had them for $96 for 2K, SHIPPED....now that's cheap.

I didn't know that about Cabelas. Good info to have! Thanks! I've bought lots of stuff from Midway and I'm sure I will again in the future. But if Cabelas has a better shipping rate it sure makes your price/bullet go down.

Cabela's price for 1000 230 gr. .45ACP Rainier's would be $68.73 or so, shipped.

np, tricky. just didn't want you to think you were paying for fmj and getting plated

Grafs is higher than midway. Even when you take shipping into account.
They also screwed up 2 of the 3 orders I placed with them.
No thanks.
Midway has never screwed up on me, and I have done my share of business with them in the last few years.
Also if you buy true JHP, powder valley is quite a bit cheaper than midway.

Estate sales are where you get the best deals.

Cabel's price for 1k Rainier RN 230g $74.73

Midway sale price shiped to me here in CO $79.11

Looks like Cabela's wins here.
