I was just at the Midway web page for primers and it appears that they have done the same as Powder Valley....................no primers on their web site.

I got lucky yesterday ... found 2 lbs of Varget and 1000 small rifle match primers...local store, i had to take it.... where the hell is all the stuff going.....

I got an email notice from Midway yesterday that they had some small pistol primers in but of course I didn't get over there in time. I'm like you, I checked today only to find that you can't even backorder any more.
Oh well,
:(

Midway hasn't accepted backorders on primers for months. That's why they created the waiting list. If you miss a shipment, put yourself back on the waiting list.

you can't even do that now......the primer pages are "blank"

Speaking of Powder Valley, I just saw this on their website:

At this time we are not taking any new backorders for primers that are not listed here. We currently have over 50 million primers on backorder. If you currently have a backorder in place your order will be processed as primers become available. Once we begin receiving more primers from the manufacturers and are able to begin filling current backorders we will update the website.

I wonder if the suppliers could fix this by doing what the gas stations do when there's a shortage - crank up the prices so there's less demand (and in our case there would be a lot less buying to resell at profit). I think one of the problems with our situation is that most places haven't messed with the prices hardly at all. Well, that makes most of us want to buy both what we need and what we'd like to have in case it's hard to get for a while. If everybody had bricks of primers priced at $40 or $45 now, I think the guys that need them would buy, and the guys that don't need them would wait for a bigger supply to drive the prices down.

Only problem is, I wonder if the prices would ever come down......the suppliers may cut people and decrease production to make less product with the same income. I see that happening a lot now.

Oh well. When this started (and I didn't even have any equipment), I bought a couple thousand LR primers and several jugs of powder. Now that I have my equipment, 1k factory bullets, and a bullet mold (and other necessary equipment for casting/resizing) on the way, I feel really good about sitting on what I have until this blows over.

Did you fellas note the part in dynamite rabbits post--"--when the manufacturers start shipping--". There is the key! The manufacturers are not manufacturing (significantly). A little, yes, but that's all. I wonder why? A rather retorical question!

Steve H - Press the "Remind Me" button and get on the list. It is working as of 6PM Saturday.

I go to church with an engineer that works at the Lake City Ammunition Plant. He tells me they are working at full production making ammunition, and what few primers they have left over gets shipped to CCI.

My buddy at work has got family working for Olin in the STL area and says their working 6 days a week
