Gamestalker, this is just a friendly hint but some things have changed in the last few years.
I'm an ex-Texan and have lived in NM so long I've been forgiven for that fact. Frankly speaking, you couldn't drag me back, kicking and screaming, and make me stay in Texas. I have been asked several times by Texans why I don't move back now that I'm retired. I always get that shocked, big eyed look and the "You've got to be kidding" reply when I tell them I don't want to live in Texas. They say "But you have to pay income tax over there". I just explain that it is a lot cheaper to pay the income tax than pay their sales and property taxes. Another plus is I can step off the road dang near anywhere I want in my part of the state and not be arrested for trespass.
I should say that the property tax thing would be different if I lived in Santa Fe county.
