Might buy an XD9

Very nice feel and good to shoot. The grip and trigger pull is not for everyone. Especially those that own glocks. ;) ;) I would buy it.

I own two glocks (17 & 21) they are the guns I shoot worst. IMHO the XD is amoung the best of the plastic pistols, with the new Taurus 24/7 Pro not too far behind (and definitey the leader in bang/buck).

I would agree on the XD9 being one of the best of the polymer pistols. I like my 24/7, but after the issue I had a few days ago with my safety not working, it makes me a little skeptical about Taurus' quality. Time will tell for sure.

I've had my XD 9 sc for about 6 months.I really like it. Have had no problems at all. Only one FTE that was probably my fault. The trigger feel is fine. IMO all guns have a different trigger feel and after a few shots you know how it feels and adjust to it.
$349--BUY IT.That's a good deal.
I don't carry it as my primary CC gun only because I have some smaller ones that are easier to conceal especially now that it's warmer out.
I really like my XD 9

Sigma 9mm

There is a guy on thefiringline trying to sell his sigma 40.
NIB for less than $300.00.:)
I have never shot one are they any good?

Thanks.

Buy it. Just put another 200 rounds through mine yesterday, fun fun fun.

And the two tone looks so nice.

Make sure it is the newer "Enhanced" version...the Sigma40VE. It will have the light rail. I have two Sigma9VE's. I have owned both for three years, never had one failure of any kind. People complain about the trigger pull, but my wife and 9 year old grandson don't have a problem with it. Go to the Search box and put in: the truth about the sw sigma
Lots of discussion, plus a photo of my grandson shooting my 9VE.

I have seen them for sale here in Arizona at gun shops, with two 16 round magazines, for under $300.00. I paid $280.00 for mine in Yuma.

No problems with my XD-9 or my SW9VE
but i sold them both just because i got
tired of polymer.I have a Hi power on the
way soon to be followed by a 1911.350
bucks would be a great deal on a lightly
used XD-9.

I love my XD9. I would definetly go for it. They are great buys and very accurate. I have but around 1,000 rounds through mine (and i bought it used) and havent has a single jam or FTE

I have three of the XDs, all 40 caliber. Everyone I know that shoots the XD9 is pleased with them. If you prefer the angle of the Glock, you may not like it. Apart from that, for that price you really can't go wrong.

My only problem with my XD-9 is that the finish wears very quickly.
I still love mine and carry it daily. I'd trust my life to it, which is the most important thing IMHO.

Nothing at all wrong with the XD's. I own a bi-tone service 9mm, sub comp 9mm and a 45acp. I like all of them.

As far as finish, just do routine maintenance and it should be ok. Might want to try out some Blue Wonder Armadillo for the exterior--good stuff, in fact I use it on anything that I ccw.

Please shoot one first. It fits smaller hands better.
For comparison, I have large hands and definitely prefer the feel of an XD9 to a G17, and that has nothing to do with grip angle.

FYI, manofsteele has NIB XD9 going for $400 in the classified section of this site.

Seems like a good price...but what is the condition of the gun? How's the trigger? IF everything on it passes inspection, get it if it's really the one you want ;)

I've got 3 XDs and am thinking of a 4th. I love them, for me they fit well, even with somewhat large hands and operate well. And you get a warranty with it even being used.

Until recently I had an XD9 bi-tone. In many ways it had seemed the perfect plastic pistol for me in that it felt good in the hand, had a lefty friendly mag catch, pointed well, functioned flawlessly for over 1000 rounds, et cetera.

Well, I am getting a Beretta PX4 to replace it after firing a friend's. What I found I didn't like about the XD9 was the length of pull between the grip and the trigger and there wasn't anything I could do about it. The Beretta instantly made me fall out of love with the XD9. I have long fingers and the trigger's proximity to the grip on the XD made me contort my trigger finger slightly, which adversely affected my accuracy with the pistol. The XD turned out to be just another exercise in "one size fits most," and most is not me unfortunately.

The new Beretta with the large backstrap allowed me to perform drastically better with it than the XD9, even with the old DA/SA transition.

If the XD9 truly fits your paw, buy it. If you find that you have to alter your grip or your triggering to fire it, for having a hand either too small or too large, do yourself a favor and get something that features adjustable backstraps like the Beretta, HK P2000 or Walther P99. If you want an American one S&W makes a few too.

I also have big hands, and i grip it quite comfortably. This weekend i am having a gun smith look at it, i am thinking about taking some slack out of the trigger pull.
