It costs hundreds of dollars for a press release.

How is this? All a press release is is a written statement either snail mailed, emailed out to news media, or even passed out face to face on a piece of paper. Does not cost anything, really.

Ah. And which media, pray tell, will print it in New Jersey? Which 'face' would you pass it to? That works if you're the MMM. It doesn't work if you're a pro-gun organization in an anti-gun state.

So, what we do is to pay a press release agency to guarantee our statements are picked up by the newswire services. And when editors - even in New Jersey - see it broadcast, they don't want to be left out.

By paying for a press release it gets us wider exposure, indexing on search engines, and the higher probaiblity it'll be published in a local paper, because the editor doesn't want his competition to get the drop on him. Besides, the reality is that we're a small organization staffed by volunteers. Nobody has time to write, print, stuff, seal and address dozens of letters for each statement.

Again, bottom line, we have to pay for what liberals get for free.

And it's this kind of environment that people who live in "safe" states don't understand. You have no idea what we're dealing with here!

But you WILL understand, when the cancer of gun control creeps from NJ outward. It started in NY, then infected NJ. Now it's starting in PA... Gov. Ed Rendell is no friend to gun rights, and PA is in danger of floundering.

You think it's not going to happen, but it will, if you keep thinking it won't.
