Ok
I finally took the plunge. After having looked for leather for my 3" mdl 60 for a few years with no success, I broke down and called milt sparks. Not only did I order my mdl 60 holster, but when he told me there is a 12 to 18 week wait I went ahead and ordered 2 VM2's, a belt and mag carrier. Can't wait till they get here and will definately post my impressions once they do.

Seems everyone likes the VM2's, so even if I dont like it I can always sell it here....heh

I too have a 3 inch M60 .357. It is difficult to find holsters for it. I have plenty of IWBs but do not have an OWB that suits me. I have several Sparks holsters, and they are top notch.
What holster did you order?
Thanks,
Jerry

Jerry

I ordered the PMK for the 3 inch mdl 60. It came highly recommended by Nick with Milt Sparks.

I have come close to selling my 60 since it is so hard to find a holster for, that would be a shame as it is a sweet shooting little jframe.

I also got a VM2 for a 5 inch 1911 and a VM2 for a 31/2" 1911 a belt and a mag carrier. All leather stuffs in cordovan, just to be contrary to your basic black.

All of the Sparks specimens I have seen or handled have been absolutely first rate. A far cry above my typical galco and kramers. The 3 to 5 month wait kinda sucks but hey, what can ya do?

SgtGunner,
Thanks, I'll take a look at that one. I know it was designed for a woman's build, but that doesn't mean we can't wear it too.
I agree that the 3 in M 60 is a sweet shooting gun, and with Pachmayer grips it doesn't bite so much. It is also an accurate gun that is not really harder to condeal than a snub if one has the right holster.

Let us know how you like the holster after you have worn it a time or two.
Best,
Jerry

Gives you time to save $ so its as if you spent no $ at all. Now thats what I call logic.
I never thought of that, that is one of the finest examples of rationalization I have seen...maybe my wife will buy it too.

Jerry
Until I read your post I hadn't noticed it was designed for his wife....oh well I guess even at my rapidly advancing age I can still claim to have a girlish figure..:D

Thats how I rationalize all of my long wait purchases. I just ordered a HBE holster from Eric Larson. Its about the same price as a VM2 with the same wait period. Ten bucks in the sock drawer each week takes care of it.:D :D :D

SgtGunner;

Don't be surprised if your rig doesn't arrive a little early. I've never had to wait the full period I was quoted.

All the great custom leather shops have long waiting periods - and they seem to be getting longer!

Jerry, (and anyone else interested)

I have been carrying the 3" model 60 in the PMK for a few weeks now and I have to say , made for a woman or not this is one very stable, secure and comfortable holster. Conceals pretty well for a OWB revo holster too.

I find myself carrying the 60 more often than not now. Throw a speed strip in the back pocket and good to go.

Definately recommend the PMK.

That said all of the leather is great. I especially like the belt.

I own 3 VMII's and a Sparks belt and highly recommend them.

Best darn investment I made for CCW besides my Handgun.

SgtGunner,

Thanks for the update. I appreciate it.

Does the holster wear well at the 4-5 o'clock postion? If so it would do well for OWB under a cover garment. Sparks makes top notch leather.

Thanks again,
Jerry

Jerry

I wear it at about the 4 oclock. Wears perfect, nothing rubbing or digging. It definately needs a cover garment though. It is OWB so..........

I have noticed it wears a little farther forward with certain pants. With standard jeans or cargo pants it's in the 4, with dress slacks or suit pants it rides substantially further forward, not uncomfortably so, but forward nonetheless, must be the way the belt loops are spaced or cut on my slacks.

No worries I wear cargos or jeans about 99% of the time.

Mac,

I have 2 VMII's the PMK, belt and mag carrier and will never buy anything but sparks again. I have found my holy grail of leather.

Mac,

Thanks for the reply. For some reason I had thought that the PMK was designed to be worn a little farther forward than the average pancake.

I have three Sparks EXC, and one I-BAK. They are great, and a few makers do as well but overall none does better. I normally carry OWB with a cover garment. I prefer the pancake holsters as they fit a little tighter to my body. However, the PMK should not be bad, and evidently you are finding it excellent.

Regards,
Jerry
