I don't see how a Safepacker would substitute for an inside the waistband holster: two vastly different modes of carry. But there's so much I don't see.
Some people swear by the Safepacker. Although I've tried to like it, I find it's much too restrictive for practical use by me. It must be held just so in anticipation of a draw. It also calls attention to itself.
What I have found, though, is that it's the best thing I've found for keeping a handgun near the bed: just slip the top of the opened Safepacker under the mattress and let the bottom hang over the bed frame. There's the elusive bedside holster, suitable for home or travel. No good if you have young children or untrustworthy visitors though.
