I am thinking about getting a safepacker for my Sig P239 sas 9mm to have an alternate holster while I wait for my Milt Sparks VM2 to come in. Has anyone else on here ever used a safepacker? I don't know much about them so any info would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Tuck

I don't see how a Safepacker would substitute for an inside the waistband holster: two vastly different modes of carry. But there's so much I don't see.

Some people swear by the Safepacker. Although I've tried to like it, I find it's much too restrictive for practical use by me. It must be held just so in anticipation of a draw. It also calls attention to itself.

What I have found, though, is that it's the best thing I've found for keeping a handgun near the bed: just slip the top of the opened Safepacker under the mattress and let the bottom hang over the bed frame. There's the elusive bedside holster, suitable for home or travel. No good if you have young children or untrustworthy visitors though.

I agree about it not being a substitute for an IWB, but with Milt Sparks the avg. wait is about 6 months so I thought the safepacker might be nice to try and if it works then pass it on to my wife to put in her briefcase. I figure it would blend pretty well with that.

I use one frequently for my G19 when backpacking. An OWB or IWB would interfere with the hip strap of my backpack, and the Safepacker is an ideal solution.
