Have any of the members here from Milwaukee or Southeastern WI seen the Spyderco Native at any Wal-Marts in this area? I'm looking for them.

I know it's Wal-Mart, but when you're a kid with a small income and budget, savings on a knife like the Native are appreciated.

Hey, I'm from Milwaukee too! I was just at walmart today (cheap target ammo)... walmart had some spyderco delicas on the webpage, but I don't ever recall seeing them at any of the locations here. Have you ever been up to sherpers on 108th? They have a huge selection of knives.

Haven't been to Sherper's recently. I'll go take a look.

I heard over at Bladeforums that Spyderco sent Natives to about one-third of the Wal-Marts in the U.S. to test out a new market.

Not being a WalMart fan please take this with a grain of salt, but I don't expect that Spyderco deals with WalMart.

Evidently, the original intent of the Native was a quality knife designed for mass sale. It is indeed a terrific all-around knife, but has not seen the mass consumption originally hoped (and in fact, the Native's price point HAS BEEN higher than the average American consumer would pay).

Spyderco selling through WalMart could potentially both raise the Native's lackluster sales, and introduce Spydies to a whole new audience, some of whom will be likely to look through dedicated knife dealers for an upscale Spyderco next time.

I think Sal actually said on BFC that the Natives with Zytel handles were actually designed with Wal-Mart in mind.

I love my Native (thanks John!) but my next one won't come from Wal-Mart.

Not in Watertown either

I was in the Watertown WalMart yesterday and went over to the knife display to see if they had the Syyderco and they did not.

They did have a CRKT folder and I don't remember seeing CRKT knives at a WalMart before.

Heard about the new knives at walmart and swung by to get some to replace my $1 Chinese knife which has served me well for a few years.

Picked up a Spyderco Native, CRKT M16-13Z, and a Kershaw Onion Blur all for $130 with tax. I really like em all.
