The story mentions other mob beatings, but leaves out one from a few months ago where the man being beaten, who was from Arkansas, grabbed a gun from his truck and started shooting.

Of course they did, because guns are dangerous. 
I can't conceive of what would make anyone allow themselves to be dragged out of a car in the first place. Heck, all you have to do is lock the doors and idle forward.

Idle my 6 !! I remember when the driver of a big rid was pulled out
of his truck down in L.A after the Rodney King deal. I try and stay
out of a situation like this, but if I do ever get in one and there are
knucleheads standing in front of my truck when I'm trying to escape,
there's every chance there will be some hi-way pizza on the road/street.
I'm getting gone instead of taking a beating. All bets off.

Do you think he took 41 North instead of 45 North off of I-94? I know plenty of people who made that mistake (I did), you end up driving really fast and promise never to make that mistake again.
A good rule of thumb about Milwaukee at night is to stay North of Brown Deer road, South of I-94, East of I-43 and West of Hwy 45. Do that and you will avoid most trouble.

For some wierd reason, Milwaukee has a LOT of mob beatings. Something a good standard capacity semi-auto handgun can fix really quick.

In Houston, there was a cop who was working security at an Apartment complex. He was minding his own business and he heard a knock at the security door. He opened it and took 5 to the chest dying immeadiatly....
In the old days, we would handle this. Forget the cops. Someone touched a woman or a kid and we burned them the
out of town. I am not trying to be blood thirsty, but we are being overrun by evil. That is what it is, evil. The sad part is you can go to jail if you try to combat it. You are SUPPOSED to contact the police, so that they can get their payoff, or whatever it is that they don't do and the folks responsible never get arrested.
I dunno, honestly, the police are supposed to PROTECT US. IF THEY CAN'T, THEN WHY ARE THEY NECISSARY???? WE WILL DO IT, JUST STAY OUT OF THE WAY. :banghead:
I don't want my wife, family or innocent people hurt... I guess that is where all of this is coming from.

I guess being the way i think if they started gathering around my car. I would be either in Drive or reverse and moving my 1 ton projectile at 5 miles an hour if they still didnt move i would take it to 50 if it was my only way to save my ass. Hey Monkeyleg I heard the reason they didnt' prosecute or bring attention to the shooting they didnt want to make make hamden look even better.
One good reason my truck automatically locks the doors when you start moving and doesn't unlock them until I put it in park. Yeah, lock the doors and don't stop. Don't worry about the SOB who won't get out of the way. If they are attacking you, you have some justification.
I do agree with the comment above. You don't want vigilantes to get out of control, but you do want that fighting spirit in the people to resist evil in their community, not just sit back and take it. It would also be nice if courts and police would not come down so hard on vigilantes either.

You are VERY vulnerable from the flanks when you're in your car. Even with locked doors, a mob can break your windows and have you out in a matter of seconds. The best bet is to hit the gas and run everyone over, but of course that requires 4WD and some clearance or you'll get bogged down in the bodies.

I would try very hard to avoid mobs . . . but the ONLY way a mob could drag me out of my car would be if the vehicle were disabled or blocked in by something a lot more more immovable than pedestrians.

I used to live in Milwaukee, but as is the case with many large cities, there are certain areas that are not safe for anyone.
It is sad that things have come to this: roving bands of hoodlums beating people to death at will.
Only one way to clear this up. Concealed carry and plenty of ammunition.
