Anyone here know where I might find a ten round mag spring for a 582 series Mini-30 or something compatible. I have searched the net and can only find springs for the Mini-14. One site listed a five round mag spring that fit both the Mini-14 and Mini-30. I am a little suspicious of that. I was thinking I could cut down a twenty round mag to fit but I have not been able to locate any of those either. Mine popped out in the woods. I found the bottom plate but not the spring. I would appreciate any info on the matter. FYI, I may post this same question on a few different forums.

Thanks for the response. I saw those. They are listed as springs for the Mini-14. They may indeed work but I have no Idea if they do or not. I may give them a call to check. I have not been able to find any specs on size differences.

Yeah you’re right. Didn’t quite see that.

Do you have a specific problem?

This thread may help or just be interesting for a bit of background reading.

Perhaps just call RUGER
Their CS is excellent.

Ruger is fantastic. They sent me a brand new ten round mag. Now I have a mag body and a bottom plate just laying around. If I can find a spring I can put it back in service. No big deal. Just something I wanted to try/do. Thanks for your response.

I think I have a complete 10-round Mini 30 magazine laying around collecting dust. PM me where to send it and you can have the whole thing for use or parts. :)

I agree, start with Ruger as they have good CS.

Also... I have heard of people replacing troublesome Mini mag innards with Magpul followers and the corresponding springs. Apparently they are drop in for this mag body, but I did the same with notable filing on my Galil (it has some side reinforcements, etc) and they still work flawelessly. Plastic (slippery) anti-tilt, a nice upgrade. If anyone likes this sort of fussing with their gear and/or has a troublesome magazine or gun.
