Since Christmas I gone on a mini buying spree.
Last Fall someone offered me $300 for my Beretta Bobcat, so I didn't have a 22 auto loader.

In January, CDNN had a sale on the Walther PPX $269.
They now have 1 less in their inventory

At Cabela's last week I saw a Taurus PT-22 for $220.
It followed me home.
Then last Friday my LGS had a nib Phoenix HP22A for $140.
That one followed me home.

Now I'm just itchin' to get to the range.
None of 'em are for SD, so if their not perfect it's no big deal.

I'm afraid it may take me months to find what ammo they like.
Which means lotsa trips to the range - Darn!

Luckily, 22lr are gettin pretty ubiquitious (lots of 'em) around here.
Now I just gotta find out what each gun likes.

Yes you certainly are on a bit of a .22 buying spree. I would start out with Federal Auto Match and CCI MiniMags if you have them as both are reliable and accurate performers in my .22s.

I had a spree going too until my dentist said I needed a root canal and a new bridge. That $ 4,500 would have gone a long way towards a few more for my collection. Ouch, in more ways than one!!!

Hp22a likes hot but not super hot rounds. I have had 4. Wore 2 out, have 1, sold one. Mine like stingers and minimags, but the minimags seem almost too hot.

WestKentucky

Phoenix Arms website has that it is designed for use with standard velocity .22 ammo. Could be high velocity ammo, like Stingers and MiniMags, may be a bit too much for the gun to handle and over time might accelerate wear and tear on the frame.

Thanks for the ammo suggestions.
I have a number of choices.
Rem Thunderbolts to CCI Minimags & a bunch in between.
Looks like Sat is gonna be a range day.
In the 50s, not a lot of wind & sunny

That's quite a haul. There should be a lot of fun shooting in your future. I recently traded a Marlin 22 rifle to my LGS guy for a Phoenix. The only thing is I'm waiting while his distributor gets some in stock to get my pistol.

I have the PT-22. It's good for about 50 to 75 rounds before it stops ejecting cases. It's a nice accurate
fun to shoot gun though.

I hear great things about the Phoenix Arms .22's especially for the price point.

All the Best,
D. White

Love me some little .22 pistols.

I bought the Phoenix in 2009, and was amazed at how much gun I got for the price. You get a real, hammer-fired gun with a rear sight that is at least adjustable for windage, and a very consistent, crisp trigger. All I will even try to shoot through a small rimfire autoloader is MiniMags, and they run beautifully through it. The gun is complicated by something like 64 safety features, though.

In 2012, I found a 1998-vintage Taurus PT-22 that I picked up on a whim, for something like $160. Again, all I care to try is HV ammo, and it's a neat little shooter, a good training double for my PF9 Kel-Tec, and I used it to orient my wife to shooting (as of now, it's all she will shoot.) I'm glad to have this gun, too. AutoMatch ran well in it the last time I tried it.

My "neatest" .22 is one made in 1998 by FEG of Hungary, sold as the AP22 (imported by Interarms.) It's an all-steel rimfire version of the PA-63.

I wants me a Ruger SR22; fortunately, they're coming down in price.

By the way, that stainless Taurus is nice. I got a PT-25 in June of 2015, but then came across a stainless one about two months ago, also in .25, so grabbed that one, too.
