I own an older 185 series mini14. Any suggestions on ways to reduce muzzle blast? I know these guns are louder due to shorter barrel and action type, but even so, the noise seems excessive.
Check out the DPMS muzzle brake Levang Lenear at Midway, they get good reviews for directing the muzzle blast down range. The barrel would have to be threaded for it.
Shoot .223 rather than 5.56 if you haven't... and try a flash hider or other muzzle device. For some reason the plain barreled minis have a lot of muzzle blast. The M14-type ones work for me
Thanks. I'll have to look into muzzle breaks/flash suppressors, as well as getting the barrel threaded. Btw, what do you think getting a gunsmith to thread it would cost ? Just trying to get a rough idea
Yes, I would like a sound suppressor! Just a little too expensive though. As well as having to go through lots of paperwork!
