I just bought the auto ordnance 1911a1 in orange from cabelas. I got home started doing more research on the gun in orange. I found out that this gun is a package deal just for cabelas with 2 magazines, but I only have one. Since all guns are suppose to be sealed until sold I have to believe it got left out at the factory. Now should I go back to cabelas or to factory first? If I am suppose to have another I would like to get it. Thanks for all opinions. scout777

Scout777, I'd contact both Cabelas and Auto Ordnance. Explain what happened and request a new magazine, you may get one for each of them.

Can't say about Auto Ordinance, but over the years guns have been shipped with 1, 2 and at times 3 magazines. Sometimes the specs change. Current guns may ship with 2, but the gun you bought may have been made some time ago when they only shipped with 1.

Some less than reputable dealers have been known to take spares out and sell them separately too. I'd doubt Cabelas would do that though. I'd contact both Cabelas and the manufacturer and see what they say.

This. I've seen package deals with varying numbers of magazines to meet a certain price point the seller feels will move the product.

Had the same problem with a Steyr M9 I got. The gun only had one mag but the factory manual said it was supposed to come with two. I contacted the importer who in turn gave me the phone number for their distributor who sent me the mag.

Definitely post up if Auto Ordinance or Cabela's helps you out. Would be good to know for the future.

IMO, the OEM magazines from Auto Ordnance aren't worth bothering with. Just get some decent GI magazines.

And I fail to see the logic of a Cerakoted hunter-orange frame. This comes very close to being mistaken for a toy (toys are required to be marked with orange muzzles).
