I dropped from 6.2 to 6.0 HP-38 for my xtreme CPFP bullets 158gr, used the taper crimp someone recommended to me. Fun shooting, no crimp jump. Shoot the 50 bullets I reloaded yesterday.

But I had crimp jump on the Speer LSWCHP 158gr, I made these after the 15 copper plated I made last time where I used a very light roll crimp where I had crimp jump and someone recommended I buy a 38 taper crimp die. I guess I just didn't tighten the roll crimp enough for the lead bullets and had two jump around .02 inches, just enough to not be able to get into the cylinder. I still have another 50 of those, I'll go though and tighten up the crimp a wee bit.

A taper crimp is used on semi auto cartridges and some bullets in revolver cartridges that do not have a canelure or crimping groove to roll crimp into. Increase your roll crimp in the Speer bullets crimp groove.
