Under the category of "know thy enemy" ...

The MMM Meetup site (that I was recently thrown off of) has been taken over by a bunch of soccer moms in the last week. There hasn't been a gun control related posting in over two weeks.

FWIW, there is also no mention of the MMM anywhere on the Brady home page either.

At the Brady web site the list of "communications staff" has quietly gone from more than 8 full time people down to only 2 now.

The only press release they have had in a couple of weeks is one complaining (actually, whining is a more accurate description) about a Fox News analyst (Judge Napolitano), stating that the state of Florida may have legal grounds to sue the Brady organizatiuon for their phony scare tactics on that tourist issue.

Even the Dem's (well some of them anyway) are recognizing that gun control has cost them lots of elections in the past 10 years.

Well, I guess I also missed the press release on their fabulously $ucce$$ful fund raiser for Art Buchwald's 80th birthday.

If they finally folded up the whole MMM fraud I doubt they would issue a press release. Anybody hear of other layoffs at the Brady group in general?

MMM is now just a marketing slogan owned by the Brady Bunch. It can come or go as may be useful, much like choosing whether Coke "adds life" or is "the real thing."

Today it's hard to sell back yard bomb shelters because the average soccer mom doesn't perceive a threat. Similarly, it's hard to peddle more gun control unless you have a good Columbine now and then. Even trying to link .50s to terrorism isn't selling well (outside of communist strongholds like California). The most recent memory is of a hurricane (what was it called again?) and there we all some some "legitimate" uses for privately owned guns.

Heh.

Police leaders have joined with the Brady Campaign and Brady Center to sound an alarm to law enforcement professionals around the country about a new handgun available to the general public that is capable of firing bullets through soft police body armor. They are also calling for Congress to take steps to deal with the threat the gun poses.

Please click on one of the links below to view the video of the cop killer gun.

.

I thought they only made Cop-Killer bullets. Now they have entire guns!

Has MMM seen the San Francisco Police Officers Association
response to the proposed SF handgun ban? Not all police
support the Sarah Brady-Rebecca Peters-George Soros crowd.

The antis have said that the purpose of the junk lawsuits
is to bankrupt the gun industry to achieve defacto prohibition
by stopping the LEGAL manufacture of firearms.
yeah. Crime in Chicago goes up because the lawabiding are
disarmed by Mayor Daley's gun policies, so the answer is to
sue manufactirers because gun sales are legal in areas outside
Chicago where the crime rates are lower.

Cop killer gun video. Does any one here remember the video
of the pre-ban AK that could shoot through cinderblocks and the
post-ban AK that was fired (into the ground) without breaking
cinderblocks? EVEN CNN THOUGHT THAT WAS A HOOT!
If guns killed cops, a police station would be the most dangerous
place for cops. ARG.

I'm here in California. We have Prop 77 on the ballot. Prop 77 is going to (assuming it passes) break up the Democratic political machine in this state. It's going to change the national political balance also, because it will change the way California elects its congressmen.

I personally have convinced quite a few people who otherwise wouldn't have cared about it to vote for Prop 77. I'm going to vote for it. I'm also going to vote for Arnie's measure that will take away much of the lobbying power of big public employees' unions. This will also have a big impact on the Democratic control of this state.

Why am I doing these things? One reason only: Loony California Democrat-sponsored gun control laws, namely the CA AWB, the CA handgun "safety" law, and CA's corrupt and racist CCW system. If the Dems would get right on those issues I wouldn't be working for Prop 77 and the Dems could hold on to their little machine here.

Gun control is an albatross around their neck. I have no party loyalty and I would vote for the right Democrat, but I won't ever vote in a way that supports gun control. Until they get rid of this albatross they are going to marginalize themselves into a minor party.

So yes, the MMM is dying and national-level Dems are mostly deaf to gun control proposals these days. They have been consistently losing elections for over ten years now based on this one idiotic issue.
