First of all, I would like to thank everyone who helped me with my Mosin problems.

Today I went to the range to shoot my M44 Mosin Nagant. Dunno why I haven't shot it yet, although I thought I had headspace problems which I eventually figured out that it was the extractor.

Because I didn't want a high powered rifle to explode close to my face I made a "'Po Boy" rifle shooting rest out of some scrap 2x4's in short time. Went down to the range, secured the stand, put the rifle in the poorly built stand, tied some twine to the trigger, and very cautiously chambered a round. I walked back about 15ft., pulled the trigger string and BOOM! It was pretty cool and, and the gun didn't explode! To be sure it wasn't going to blow up I set off another one about 15' back. To make sure there werent hot gases shooting out backwards I set one off with about a 10" string.

After I felt the gun was safe I decided to fire a couple of rounds off at 100 yds (because I was already there). I didn't manage to hit the shoot n see target, but I wasn't shooting off a rest and I don't shoot much rifle. I walked up to 25 yds and shot standing up, I hit the taget a couple times but I wasn't dissapointed. I then went back to 100 yds and shot one more round. Theres a good chance I hit the target because it fell off:D

Overall it was a whole bunch of fun to shoot. I hear people say the recoil is bad on the carbines, but it really wasn't bad at all. It wasn't like the sharp punch of a heavy HDCP shotgun load, more of a firm push.

Sorry I dont have any pictures. I'l try to get some soon.
