Model 12 screws

I have a model 12 savage blind box laminated stock. I bought a bell and Carlson metalist stock. When I put the barreled action in the stock the front screw is too short and the rear screw is tool long. Someone told me they made two different length screws for wood and synthetic stocks. Does anyone know where to get the synthetic screws?

No on Bell and Carlson and can't find anything on savage site. Was looking for conframation that there are two different sized pair of screws. Not just a wild guess that I'm not smart enough to look myself.

I was just trying to help you.

Heres another wild guess you didn't ask for either.

Maybe you need to finish inletting the stock so your barreled action drops down in it where it is supposed to fit??

Then the screws would be the right length.

The thing to do though, would be to call (Not email) Bell & Carlson Monday and ask for them to tell you why it doesn't fit with the existing screws you have.

Or why they didn't supply the longer screws you need if your stock length screws are too short?

It has an aluminum Bedding block, it is fully inletted and free floated. I don't want to modify the bedding block for fear of putting pressure on my action. If I take more out and let it drop down it wouldn't help my rear screw that is too long and I don't have a die to fix my threads if I cut it off. The right screws seem to me like the right answer. If this is over your head feel free not to post on my thread any more. Not looking for sarcasm or any kind of answers to make you feel smarter to yourself. I have 2 simple questions ; is there two length of screws? And where I might find them?

Wow, I havn't been on here for a while because of this reasion, a bunch of people with no lives trolling the forum in hopes of making jokes and heckeling people that have what they see as unintelligent questions. I will go now and try another forum, please in the future on this forum or any other if you have something sarcastic to say keep it off my thread.
