I think it might be around $50 to hundred dollars to high. I guess it also depends on where you live and the generation. I'm sure someone with more experience will chime in.
If you can get them down to $500, do it. Otherwise, buy it at that price. That's a fine revolver, and the box and tools probably make it worth over $500. I wouldn't pass at that price, especially in Illinois.
Here's the way I look at it. "They don't make 'em like that anymore" as they say, and although they're not rare, examples in good condition with the box, and such are pretty much so. If I want it, I won't lose it over $50.00 or even $100.00 bucks. Yea...Yea...I know, that just drives the price up for everybody else. Sorry 'bout that.
I won't tell you what I paid for an (as best I can tell), unfired 1955, 2", M&P in the box.
